                           Handouts and teaching videos will be provided. 

  1. Introduction  to Middle Eastern drumming 
  2. Open to beginner drummers , other instrumentalists,  as well as dancers. While the dumbeck (darbuka or Egyptian tabla)  is the focus drum of the class,  George will introduce the roots of rhythms used in the Middle East today, and their musical interpretation with different instruments of  the rhythm section.  
  3. Students will be taught  the “why” before the “how”, so they can start on the right path of a fun, musical journey covering sounds, body and hand positions, energy flow , drum vocabulary, rhythms and more. 
  4.  Some students will be invited  to participate in class performances along with George so they can get                 real stage experience. Furthermore, students of all levels may attend both classes at no additional                               charge where beginner students will concentrate  on basic patterns while the advanced students will                             focus on the more complex ones.

  5. Intermediate/Advanced levels Egyptian tabla

  6. This class teaches, in addition to Level 1 material,  an in depth level of the Egyptian tabla role in Arabic as well as non Arabic styles. Details of this subject that George will cover include:
